I am looking for information on people that resided at one time in Sargent, Nebraska. My great-grandfather's name was John Slagle, Jr. and he married a lady named Harriet. I don't know her maiden name, but I am interested in finding out what it was and maybe who her parents were, if at all possible. Also, I am looking for the parents of John Slagle, Sr. and his wife, Minnie I. Vandervort. Any information on them would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to find out information about my Grandfather Edward (Ed) Knapp. He came with his parents and maybe two brothers from Mass. to Berwyn, Ne. possibly in 1886. Family returned to Mass. in 1890. He didn't go back. I have been told his name was Bailey and for reasons I don't know changed it to Knapp. He might have stayed with Knapps, I don't know. Can anyone help me with any information?

I'm searching for all Cook's in the Custer County area. Also the Biggerstaff,Dickson,Huffman families. Jennie Cook daughter of John W. Cook was born Feb 26, 1862 in Morris, Grundy Co, Illinois. Died Dec 31, 1939. Married Commador C. Biggerstaff. Lived York then Broken Bow. 1 adopted son C. Chauncey. (He's actually the son of W.G. and Bell Cook) and was born July 26, 1904 in Kirksville, Adair Co, Mo. He died in 1972 in Broken Bow. Alfred Marion Cook born July 13, 1861 in Decatur Macon Co, Illinois. son of Alphous and Marie Cook. died Feb 27, 1932. Below is my gt grandfathers brothers son. This one I know is mine. Thomas Roy Cook born Aug 12, 1883 in Allamont, Labette Co, Ks.Son of Jacob and Sarah Wright Cook. He moved to Callaway Custer Co, Ne at the age of 12. Married Lila Gail Lewis on Sept 2, 1910.She was the daughter of D.H. and Minnie McFall. He died Nov 12,1968. Would Love to find more family still living. Thank you so much for all help. I am looking for information on Elizabeth Dickson(Dixon). I believe she lived somewhere near Walworth/West Union. She is buried in the West Union cemetery d.Nov 6, 1898. She was the mother of Joseph A. Harris b.3/16/1862 d.4/26/1923 Walworth, Custer co., NE. Elizabeth was married first Aaron M. Harris of Boone co. IN and then married Ebenezer Dixon and they moved to Ne somewhere around 1880. Any information would be wonderful.

I am trying to establish the relationship between Moses Lewis b.1817 and John H. Lewis. Moses was married to Martha E. Shaw. He homesteaded tracts in Custer Co. in 1878-1884. John H. Lewis homesteaded a tract in 1881.The John Lewis farm is shown in a photo on deposit with the NE State Hist. Soc. in Lincoln. Moses Lewis, George Rufus Russom, and the Isaac Bell family were acquainted in Illinois and migrated to NE in the early 1880's.
