WHARNEHAM - William and Orlando filed homested and timber claims in Custer Co., NB in 1884 and later patents in 1889 1nd 1890. William was listed as a "rancher" in the 1886 Gazetteer. A daughter of probably one of them , Emma Mae, married a Guy Perkins in Glidden, IA. We know Guy was born in 1888 and that Emma Mae was born in Custer co., around 1890.? Does anyone have information on these Nebraska homesteders?? James Perkins

DAVIS, ENGLAND, HARMAN, MALLORY, SANDERS posted by margaret Harman Lebreton on Sunday, October 21, 2001

I am looking for descendants of Lydia Harman, who married Charles Sanders. They are buried in the Ortello Cemetery, as are their children, apparently. Lydia died Aug 3, 1952 and an Irma Jane Sanders (a daughter?) as late as 1995. Lydia was the sister of my grandfather, Montraville H. Harman, and daughter of Joseph Harman and Sally Ann Mallory of Carroll Co VA, who moved with their children to Nebraska City in 1883/4. The parents of Mont's wife, George Thomas and Canvass Ann (England) Davis, went to Custer also and are buried in the Ortello Cemetery, so I assume the two families knew each other well. I would be most grateful if someone in Custer Co could put me in touch with any of Lydia's grand or great grandchildren. Thanks.
