MY Grandmother was born in Broken Bow Neb. On sept.29 1903. Her name was Rhea May (Dittmer)Stephenson. She died in Caldwell Ks when she was 25. Her mother was Lydia (Draper)She was married 7 times her first husband last name was Lewis she had a girl named Edna, mary, Della and a boy orville. When she married A mister Dittmer she had, Rhea,Don,and Ray. Any information about these people would be helpful. thanks

Anyone have information on the ROTHs or EUBANKs of Comstock, Custer Co.? My gr-grandparents: Jonas Spatch ROTH and wife Virginia EUBANK moved from their home in Paris, Edgar Co. IL. to the Comstock area in Aug. 1879. They traveled with Virginia's brother Cyrus Richard EUBANK and sister-in-law, Elizabeth UNKNOWN_EUBANK and Jonas' brother, Albert Maywood ROTH and wife Louisa EUBANK_ROTH (Virginia's sister). They arrived in Douglas Grove Twp. in September 1879. Jonas & Virignia homesteaded on a farm on Wagner Creek, four or five miles west of Comstock. They built a sod house and added rooms as the family grew. Virginia's older brother Edwin Dozier EUBANK was one of Douglas Grove's first ministers. He was also the first Superintendent of Public Instruction, appointed by Gov. GARBER in the 1870s. His wife, Angie Viola HERBERT taught the first school in Custer Co. and together, they held what was probably the first Sunday School in the county. Jonas' children were: Clifford Ivan ROTH b. 1875 IL., Richard Edgar ROTH b. 1877 IL., William Bradley ROTH b. 1878 IL., Dora Alice ROTH b. 1880 Comstock, Mary Esther ROTH b. 1881 Comstock, Nellie ROTH b. 1883 Comstock, Halycon "Hallie" ROTH b. 1888 Comstock, and Fredrick ROTH b. 1889 Westcott NE. Dora Alice was also a school teacher in Comstock. Jonas' son, Richard Edgar ROTH, my grandfather, was the last ROTH in the Comstock area. He died in April, 1959. His children (all born in Comstock) had previously moved to: Casper, WY. (Ruby Berniece ROTH_TEMPLAR b. 1900 & Keith TEMPLAR), Murray, UT. (Mildred Labertha ROTH_SPRINGMAN b. 1902 & John SPRINGMAN), Akron, Summit Co. OH. (Nina Louisa ROTH_CURTIS b. 1904 & Dale CURTIS), Gordon, Sheridan Co. (Levi Marion ROTH b. 1911 & Edna ARNOLD_ROTH), Denver, CO. (Edgar Wayne ROTH b. 1914 & Dorothy GROVE_ROTH), Akron, OH. I need any information on the DURHAMs of Comstock, Custer Co. NE. My gr-grandfather John James DURHAM and wife Louisa Mariah SMITH_DURHAM moved there by 1883-84. Louisa is buried in the Douglas Grove Cemetery in Comstock. Their children were: (1) Mary Elizabeth DURHAM b. 1875 MO., (2) Minerva Ann DURHAM b.1877 MO., (3) Euphemia Jane DURHAM b. 1880 MO., (4) Francis Marion DURHAM b. 1882 MO., (5) Arthur Morgan DURHAM b. 1884 Comstock, (6) Eva Frances DURHAM b. 1887 Comstock, and (7) John Roy DURHAM b. 1889 Comstock. Their daughter (my grandmother), Minerva Ann DURHAM married Richard Edgar ROTH and they farmed near Comstock from c1889-1940s. Minnie died in 1952 and Richard d. in 1959. They are also buried in the Douglas Grove Cemetery. Richard's parents were Jonas Spatch & Virginia EUBANK_ROTH. They moved from IL. to Douglas Grove Twp. in 1879, arriving in Sept. Traveling with them were Virginia's brother and wife , Richard and Elizabeth EUBANK and sister, Louisa EUBANK-ROTH and husband Albert Maywood ROTH (Jonas' brother).

The 1880 Custer Co., Nebraska census has Thomas LAMPMAN, wife Jennie (aka Jane) Omelia WOODARD & family. Their 6 LAMPMAN children were: Elihu b 26 Jan 1852; Sila Dell b 3 Jul 1874; Carrie Augusta b 26 Apr 1876; John J. b 22 Oct 1878; Matilda Augusta b 28 Feb 1881 & Ralph G. 13 Dec 1883. Jennie WOODARD LAMPMAN died at the birth of her last baby 13 Dec 1883 & was buried in Oxford Cemetery, Lillian twp, Custer Co, Nebraska where also are buried members of an ASH family (John, Jess, Jim, Adam, Hank, Sally). Did this ASH family have any relation to Joseph ASH b est 1875 who married Jennie LAMPMAN's neice, Carrie Phoebe WOODARD b Sep 1878 Jackson Co, Iowa? Hi! I am looking for the parents of FLOYD WINFIELD PORTER. According to his Social Security file, he was born in Custer Co. NE in 1887. His parents are not listed.
