- Searching for descendents of Charles E. KELLOGG, born
Oct. 1890 in Red Cloud. He married Kitty WALTERS and
they had two children, John Reginald KELLOGG and sister
Gene KELLOGG, who each had four children. Apparently
these families moved east while mine moved west. I have
Red Cloud photos and info to share.
- COOPER, GAMMON, MORRISON, PRUDUE posted by Margaret
Bucholtz on Monday, January 4, 1999
- I would like to know if my great grandmother was
buried there and what happened to her daughter. This
would have been in 1891. Her name was Lydia Josephine
GAMMON MORRISON COOPER. The wife of Harmon Martin
COOPER. I know that my grandfather was born there in
Guide Rock, Webster Co., NE and his mother died when he
was about two months old. She has a daughter from a
previous marriage who would have been about 7 years old
at that time. Her name was Ora May MORRISON. I do not
know who raised this girl. She later married a John
PRUDUE and died about 21 years old. Any information
about Lydia or her daughter Ora May would be
appreaicated. I will exchange any information I have
about either the COOPER or GAMMON family. Thanks
- EUELL, on Saturday, January 16, 1999
- Located in Blue Hill in the years 1880 thru 1909
there lived a MARTIN family. They ran a hardware
business there and also a skating rink and opera house
in this time period. Jotham and Rebecca MARTIN, and sons
Euclid, Joshua, Oliver and maybe Simpson. Joshua married
Stephanie EUELL in 1886 and was postmaster for four
years durring the Cleveland Administration. Does anyone
have any information on this family? Jotham MARTIN and
wife Rebecca had 13 children all born in WV before 1864.
Many of them are suspected to have lived and died in
Blue Hill. Can some one do census searches, etc.? Thank
you very much.

- KOSTROSKY, PETTERS, WADEMAN posted by Richard Moore
on Wednesday, January 27, 1999
- I am trying to locate relations and information about
my ancestors and G-G-G-Grandparents Joseph John [born
1825 Germany] and Caroline [Petters][born 1829
Poland]Wademan. Caroline's grandfather was from
Jitomer,Volhynia,Russia. The chosen names and notes of
the Wademan family suggest strong German connections,
and for this reason, we believe Joseph John Wademan was
a German emigrant to Russia,[Volhynia], farmed, married
Caroline Petters [ born 1829 in Poland], and raised a
family of 6 sons and two daughters, one known being
Wilhelm Wademan, [born October 27, 1861 in Poland] who
married Pauline Kostrosky [born in Poland in 1860] who
farmed and raised a family [William, Bertha and John,
born in Poland, then emigrated to the USA, where they
had August, [died in infancy], Louis, Emma, Rudolph,
Fredrick[Fritz] and Lydia. Can anyone confirm Wademan
and Petters for me? spelling? ancestors?????? This is
all I have to go on, Wilhelm Wademan by Irene Budd
(Wademan) excerpted from Luseland, Hub & Spokes,
1983. Wilhelm Wademan, my grandfather, was born in
Poland October 27, 1861, son of Joseph John Wademan,
born in Germany in 1825 and Caroline Petters, born in
Poland in 1829. Wilhelm had five brothers and two
sisters. He married Pauline Kostrosky, who was born in
Poland in 1860. They had three children, William, Bertha
and John, when they immigrated to the U.S.A. in around
the year 1890. A son, August had died in infancy. They
settled in California and when Wilhelm heard land was
cheaper in the Central states, and that there was a
German settlement already there, he moved to Blue Hill,
Nebraska and farmed there for many years. The family
increased by five: Louis, Emma, Rudolph, Fredrick
(Fritz) and Lydia. We can not confirm the correct
spelling outside of North America, and one picture of
one ancestor has 'Wedman' on the back, and a newspaper
article from the Blue Hill Leader has the spelling of
one of my earliest ancestors as Carolina Wademann? Can
you help? With best regards,

HUNT Stoddard Bett Henry. He was born in Scotland and
she in Vermont. They met and married in Michigan. They
traveled to Webster County via Kansas and arrived
sometime after 1885. James died in 1899 and Harriet in
1932. I am looking for anything written ie., letters,
diaries, news articles that might be about them or
to/from them. Their children (who lived in Webster Co.)
were Winfield and Ulric. Ulric married 1st-Mabel PAYNE
