I hope you can help me, My mother’s family has a long history in Burchard Ne. and I am working on a geneology. My mother’s maiden name was Averil Madden (1906-1995) she was the daughter of Daniel (Bud) Madden(1876-1952) and Gertrude Welch(1885-1982). My grandmother’s Sisters were:Mabel Elizabeth, Eva, and Florence. My great grandmother’s name was Maria Joan Welch(1861-1956) I’m not sure what her maiden name was I think it might have been Curtin. I believe that we are related to the Wan Winkles in Burchard. Maria was buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery in 1956. I believe that she was married to Silas Nelson Welch1856-1929). My Great Great grand mother was named either Catherine Curtin Huff or Catherine Murphy Huff (1837-1916). So far I can’t find a link between Maria and Catherine except in notes from my mother. I can find a Catherine Murphy married to Silas Huff (1837-1913) but it does not appear that they had a daughter named Maria. I have lots of pictures labeled Grandma & Grandpa Huff but I don’t know how they fit in. It would be a big favor to me if you could help me.

Sanford is reported as born 3 December 1803 in Saratoga County, New York and died 3 January 1891 in Pawnee County, Nebraska. He is said to be buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Would like to confirm this death information.

The 1880 US Census lists my great grandfather and his family, Peter Larro, living in Plum Creek Precinct, Pawnee, NE. I just recently found this census report. Our family thought they lived in Kankakee and Chicago from ~1850-1900.
I cannot locate Plum Creek on any NE map. Where is (or was) it?
Are there any records you are aware off regarding the Larro family in Pawnee Co.?
Do you know the general dates for NE homesteading?
Any information you may have would help us understand the mystery of why Peter and his family left Illinois, only to return again before 1900.

New information about Cordelia Newton in the 1870 census for Pawnee County, NE living with her mother Sylvia Newton and a reference in a Cedar County census for 1925 gives me the clue George and Cordelia might have been married in NE and then moved to Cedar County.

I am researching the Fencil family. My relatives
Frantesik (Frank) Fencil b. March 1830 and wife Josephine (Josie) Prochaska b. May 1838 lived in Table Rock in 1900 according to 1900 Census. The census tells me they immigrated from Bohemia in 1868. I believe this to be wrong. Their son Frank Fencil was born in Baltimore, Maryland 22 Aug. 1866. I am traveling to Humboldt for a family birthday party this weekend and hope to see the Bohemian Cemetary, in Table Rock, where they are buried. My research on this line of my family ends with this couple. Questions: Where did they come from in Bohemia? Family at one time heard Grandpa talk about Bohemia, Austria, but not a town or area name. My grandfather, Harry Fencil and my grandmother, Gladys Spaulding Fencil lived in Humboldt, Nebraska and are buried in Heim Cemetary in Dawson.

I grew up in rural Humboldt, NE. I have very few living relatives. No parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, or cousins. I have traced my Dad's side of the family back only to my great-grandma. Carolyn Luksik (Popp)-me, Leonard L Luksik, on HIS MOTHER'S SIDE... Bessie Dobrovolny (Luksik), Her parents- Adolph and Elizabeth Dobrovolny (who had 5 children). I don't have Elizabeth "Lizzie" maiden name. I think it's Fritche, but not sure. I have found immigration records on ancestry.com, but have reached a dead end. She was married to Adolph in 1895, came to the US in 1880,1875,1871 depending on which record you look at. I wonder where she was between coming to the US and getting married in 1895? I can't document back past Adolph on his side either.
My Dad is buried at the Czech cemetery. I don't know if any Dobvrolny's are there or in Humboldt. In my Dad's bible I found an obituary for Lizzie Dobrovolny that might tell her maiden name, but the article is written in Czech. Do you know anyone who could translate this if I mailed them a copy?
