Another notable German wedding took place in this county Thursday, the bride being mis Mary, the eldest daughter o fMr. and Mrs. Jos. Jarchow, who live fifteen miles northwest of this city, and the groom Mr. Lewis Hummell, a substantial German farmer of that vicinity. The ceremony was performed at 11 a.m. in the German Lutheran church, a mile east of the Jarchow residence, and was witnessed by about a hundred and fifty guests. Rev. A. Kallman officiated, and the Misses Ida Jarchow and Emma Ruppel acted as bridesmaids while Fred Weishahn and Harry Russ served as best men. After the ceremony the party were driven to the home of the bride's parents, where they were invited to partake of one of those elaborate and faultlessly prepared wedding dinners for which Mr. Jarchow is famous. The newly married couple left yesterday from Plymouth for a wedding trip, the route embracing a stop at Peoria, Ill., Milwaukee, Wis., and Toledo, Ohio. At the latter place they will visit their sister and brother. It will be remembered that the groom's brother married the bride's sister something over a year ago. They will return about March 1st, and will occupy a farm about a mile from Mr. Jarchow's.
