Dana Infant Son

The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Dana of Fairbury, died
Saturday, July 13, of scarlet fever. The child was six days old.
The mother was sick with the disease but is improving at this
time. The body of the child was taken to Geneva, Nebr., for
burial.

Mrs. Amanda Davis

Died, suddenly May 18th, 1875 at her home on Rose Creek, aged 27.
Mrs. Amanda E. wife of Luther C. Davis and daughter of Rev. R.C.
Foote, of Niagara Co., N.Y. She leaves a little daughter 3 years
old.
Gertrude Blanche Davis

Gertrude Blanche aged 1 year, 8 months, 6 days, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Norman Davis, died Saturday night, July 17. Funeral
services were held at the residence on the Luther Davis farm south
of Kesterson, on Monday, at 10 a.m. by Rev. R.N. Orrill, pastor of
the M.E. Church in Fairbury. Burial in the Fairbury cemetery.
Julia E. Davis

Died, at Harbine, Nebraska, September, 18, 1894, Julia E., wife of
Aaron M. Davis. Mrs. Julia E. Davis was born in Gilead township,
Branch county, Michigan, January 5, 1854, where she lived until
her marriage to A. M. Davis at the age of twenty years, and
continued to reside there for four years thereafter, when herself
and husband moved to Geneva, Nebraska, where she lived about eight
years, and from there to Harbine, her place of residence until her
death at the age of 40 years, 8 months and 13 days. She was a kind
neighbor, and indulgent mother, ever ready to sacrafice herself
for her family and one who will be missed by all, but more
particularly by her family and intimate friends, who best
appreciate her willingness to sacrafice herself for those she
loved. She leaves a loving husband and five children, father,
mother, and sister and four brothers as well as a large circle of
friends to mourn her death. The funeral services were conducted by
Rev. J. O. Cramb at the Congregational church at Harbine on
Thursday. The ENTERPRISE joins Mr. Davis's many friends throughout
the county in extending heartfelt sympathy to himself and
motherless children and other relatives in their sad affliction.
Emma Deeter

On Thrusday of last week occurred the death of Mrs. Emma Deeter,
wife of George Deeter, who lives two miles south of Thompson.
Pneumonia was the cause of death. The deceased was 48 years of
age. The body was laid to rest in the Thompson cemetery Friday.

George W. Deeter

Mr. George W. Deeter was born in Michigan Jan 10, 1852 and died
Oct 14, 1908, aged 56 years, 9 months and 4 days. He was married
to Emma Wild April 16, 1876 who departed this life in 1904. Mr
Deeter came to Nebraska in 1881 and located on his homestead in
Jefferson County. Six children, three sons and three daughters,
were born to them. They are Mrs. Henry Vieth, Mrs Fred Lott, Mrs.
Edward Shreffler and John, James and Charles Deeter. The funeral
was held last Thrusday, October 15 from the Silver Creek church,
Rev W T Clinc offficiating. The interment was in the Silver Creek
cemetery.
James Deeter

The body of James Deeter, who died in France of pnewumonia,
October 5, 1918, arrived in Fairbury Sunday afternoon, July 18,
1920. Funeral services were held at Schumann's chapel, tuesday at
2 p.m. The body was then taken to Silver Creek church, southwest
of Fairbury where a service was held and the reamins buried in the
Silver Creek cemetery, adjoining. Rev. Baker of the Fairbury M.E.
church, preached the funeral sermon. James Deeter was in military
service in France when he died and the federal government brot the
body home at the request of relatives. Full military honors were
given the dead, a number of ex-service boys in uniform acting as
escort and firing squad. Deeter leaves two brothers and three
sisters, John Deeter of Siebert, Colo., Chas. Deeter of Faibury;
Etta Lott of Edmond, Kans.; Belle Schreffler of Palisade, Nebr.,
and Mrs Mary Veith of Fairbury. All were present at the funeral
except Mrs. Schreffler.

Mrs. J. Dixon

The remains of Mrs. J. Dixon arrived in this city Monday, having
been brot here to be interred beside those of her husband who died
in this city a few years ago. Mrs. Dixon formerly lived in this
city for a number of years, and a short time after the death of
her husband she moved to Denver, and has resided there until the
time of her death which occurred Feb. 10, the cause of her death
being old age and paralysis. Deceased was 81 years of age, and is
survived by two sons and three daughters, the daughters
accompanying the remains to this city, but word could not be
gotten to the sons in time to make the trip. The remains were
taken from the train to the cemetery where short funeral services
were conducted by Rev Cline of this city.
Clarisa Doty

Mrs. Clarisa Doty, aged 67 years, 3 months, and 26 days died at
her home 4 miles west of DeWitt, Nov. 22, 1895. She was sick but a
few hours with apoplexy. Two daughters and one son were present at
the funeral. The funeral was preached in the German Evangelical
Church near Swanton, by Rev. F.M. Esterbrook, pastor of the M.E.
church. A large number of friends gathered to pay last tribute of
respect to her memory.
William Dryden

Wm. M. Dryden died at his home in Fairbury, Nebr., 723 L street,
on Friday, July 12, 1918, from scarlet fever complicated with
nephritis. Mr. Dryden had been sick about a week. He was 43 years
old and came to Fairbury from Goodland, Kans., about five or six
years ago, working as an engineer on the Rock Island railroad. He
leaves a wife and one little son. Burial was at Goodland, Kans.,
on the 13th.
