After an illness of four days duration, Mrs J L Seger, died at her home 12 miles south of town, Tuesday morning of pneumonia. The deceased was 42 years of age and has been a resident of this county for 22 years. She was born in Germany 1862, her parents emigrated to Chicago while she was yet an infant. In Chicago she met and married J L Seger and they soon afterward moved to Nebr.
Mrs Seger was the mother of 13 children, four boys and four girls of whom are still living, three being married. She was a most excellent woman who was respected and loved by all who knew her. Besides ohter relatives she leaves to mourn her loss a huband and 8 children. The funeral was held at the Catholic Church Thursday morning. The afflicted relatives have the heart felt sympathy of a host of friends here.

Fred Siebert, an elderly gentleman living about 12 miles northeast of town, died Tuesday at 3 pm. He had been ailing over a year. He leaves a wife and 3 grown children; an only son Ferdinand, Mrs John Alfs, and one daughter who lives at home.
The funeral was held Thursday at 2 o'clock from German Lutheran Church.

Jake Steward Soulls was born in Tennessee, Oct 21,1878, died at his home, Dec 6,1914, aged 36 years, 1 month and four days.
He was married to Etta Pearl Miller in Tennessee Jan 14,1899. Later they with their family moved to Nebraska where they have remained. To this union seven children: were born. All of whom are left to mourn his death.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev W S York at his late home northeast of Phoenix on Monday afternoon and interment was made in the cemetery at Phoenix.

Died at his home on Eagle Creek, Monday morning, Aug 13,1888, Wyatt Storts, aged 29 years. Deceased was bornin Washington Co, Ohio, in 1858 and came to Holt County, Nebr, in 1880, where he has resided ever since. Mr Storts was always a healthy robust man until last spring, when he took a severe cold from exposure in the water during the flood on the Eagle. His death resulted from this and it was thought to be quick consumption. He was well known and respected by all. The funeral took place Thursday from their home. His brother, Greer, was not at home, being up west some place selling some cattle. The deceased leaves a wife and numerous friends to mourn his early death to whom is extended the sympathy of all in this trial.

DEATH OF JAME S SULLIVAN
James Sullivan died at his home one mile north of O'Neill, Tuesday morning, March 24th, aged 66 years. Uncle Jim, as he was famiarly called by his old friends and neighbors, was born in Castletown, County Cork, Ireland, and came to America in the year 1863.
He lived in the state of Michigan until 1877 when he came to Holt Co with his family and homesteaded the farm on which he died. While not in robust health for the past 30 years, yet he was active in the affairs of this county, having held a position of trust in the county court house for a period of 15 years, and few were as well posted as he. He was generous to a fault, and no man, however humble, sought his advice without receiving help. He will be missed from our midst, and we hope he has gone to peace and rest, free from pain and suffering with which he was afflicted in this life.
Besides a devoted wife, six children: survive him, Philip of Anaconda, Mont; Jerry of Butte, Mont; Dan and Eugene of Portland, Oregon; John and Mary who reside here. The funeral took place Friday, interment being made in Catholic Cem -- Independent.
Mr Sullivan was well known to many Stuart people who met him frequently while he was employed in the court house. There were not many men in the county who were better posted on the affairs and records of the county than was Mr Sullivan. We regret his death.

Otto Thompson was born in Skotfos, Norway, March 17,1874 and died at Tilden hospital, Nov 5,1916 at the age of 42 years, 7 months and 18 days.
He came to America when 17 years old and settled in Minnesota where he attended school and learned the American language. From there he went to Utah, then to Montana, Wyoming and later to Deadwood, SD where he was engaged in mercantile business for several years. He left Deadwood owing to ill health and located on his ranch southwest of Atkinson. Later he moved to Atkinson where he had since resided.
Deceased is survived by widowed sister: and several nieces and nephews residing in Norway.
In his youth he was baptized in Christian faith in the Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. Last spring Mr Thompson underwent an operation for internal abscess and partially recovered, but a few weeks ago was compelled to return to the hospital where it was discovered that his condition would not stand the second operation and death came to relieve him of his suffering in a few days. Funeral services were held in Methodist Church Monday. No relative was present to mourn his death, but the larege audience room of the church was filled with friends and acquaintances for the departed. The remains were laid to rest in Atkinson cemetery.

WILLIAM WABS, 78, LONG TIME RESIDENT OF COUNTY, PASSES AWAY LAST SATURDAY
William Wabs, 78, long time resident of northern Holt County, died at his home Saturday afternoon, May 20th at 5 pm after an illness of one month.
Funeral services were held at graveside Monday afternoon at the Phoenix Cemetery at 2 pm with Remi Dunon officiating.
Pallbearers were Carroll O'Neill, Arthur O'Neill, Elwin Reed, Art Doty, Ed Hood, Francis Johnson.
William Wabs was born at Hamburg, Germany on Dec 25,1871 and died May 20,1950 at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 25 days.
He came to Holt County in the year 1882 with his parents, the late Mr and Mrs Jacohim Wabs from Iowa. He was united in marriage to Helen E McMillan at Yankton, SD on June 16,1929. To them were born 7 children, 5 sons and 2 daughters.
He is survived by his wife and the following children: Carl, Marvin, Edwin, Mae R, Rudolph F, and Adalene Wabs all of Spencer, and Clyde A Wabs of Chadron.

Mrs Sarah Jane Weekly died Saturday, January 21,1911, at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 19 days, the cause of death being gangrene. On Jan 18 the doctors saw fit to amputate Mrs Weekly's foot but the operation although successful was of no consequence.
The remains were taken to Bellevue for interment.

James Wynn, the subject of this sketch, was born in the County of Sligo, Ireland, on Aug 15,1819 and died in Atkinson April 21,1912 at the age of 92 years, 8 months 6 days.
The earlier years of his life were spent in his native county where he was married to Bridget Jennings. When 30 years of age Mr Wynn with his wife crossed the Atlantic Ocean for their new home in America, landing in New York where they lived for some time removing thence to Scranton, Penn, and later, about 34 years ago coming to Nebraska and settling at O'Neill in Holt County. 15 years ago, 3 years after the death of his wife, he came to Atkinson to make his home with his daughter, Mrs J P McNichols, where he resided until death called him hence.
To Mr Wynn's marriage with Bridget Jennings, four children were born, John Wynn of Park City, Utah, James and Anna Wynn and Mrs J P McNichols of this city. These are left to mourn his decease together with 7 grandchildren, Genevieve, Francis, Maurice, Lucile, Laurentia, Helen and Lauretta McNichols of Atkinson. A large number of other relatives and old acquaintances will be sad to know that he is no more among the living. Death came to him in a peaceful manner, old age being assigned as its cause. The early tenement was taken to O'Neill for interment on the train Tuesday morning accompanied by members of the family and friends, where also the funeral was held, conducted by the Rev Father Loecker of Atkinson. Mr Wynn was in faith a catholic and was laid to rest among the faithful dead of that honored church.

Anna Ziska born Holt County, Nebraska, near Atkinson Dec 23,1892 and died Nov 19,1915. She was the daughter of John Ziska an dwife, themselves children: of old settlers of Holt County.
She died of a lingering illness, that first showed three years ago and became violent last spring. She bore her sickness with a cheerful disposition to the last and was perfectly resigned to God's Holy Will. Being of a sweet disposition she was a joy and comfort to her family.
The funeral was held from St Joseph Church last Monday, the funeral rites bieng conducted by Father Loecher. The attendance by friends and relatives being very large. May her soul rest in Peace.
