C. W. OYSTER DIES AT 67

Claude W. Oyster, 67, electrical contractor and World War I veteran, died unexpectedly early this morning in a local hospital. The family home is at 1144 South Locust. Funeral rites will be conducted at 1:30 Monday afternoon in the chapel of the Livingston Sondermann Funeral Home by Dr. James S. Chub, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church. Following the rites here sercices will be held Tuesday in the Walker Funeral Home at Clarinda, Ia. Burial is to be in Clarinda Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 Sunday evening at the Funeral Home. Claude W. Oyster was born Nov. 10, 1895 at Stanton, Ia, the son of Charles and louella Slachouse Oyster. He was graduated from high school at Villisca, Ia. He enlisted in the Army in World War I and served with the 168th Infantry, 42nd Division. He was discharged in May, 1919, and returned to Villisca to operate an electrical shop. He and Mrs. Oyster came to Grand Island in 1942 where he was employed by tghe Ordinance Plant. In 1951 he began his own electrical contracting business and has operated it since that time. He and Hope Keener were married Nov. 29, 1920, at Villisca. He is affiliated with Grand Lodge No. 318, AF and AM and American Legion Post 53. He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Robert Forman of Grand Island, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Duane Oyster.

Dackotea James Olson

NORFOLK -- Dackotea James Olson, 7-week-old son of Jeremy Olson and Tina Scarlett of Norfolk, died Nov. 23, 1997, at his home. Services were on Nov. 26 at Sacred Heart Church in Norfolk. Burial was in Babyland at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk. Howser-Fillmer Funeral Home of Norfolk was in charge of arrangements. Dackotea was born on Oct. 3, 1997, in Norfolk. Survivors include his parents; a brother, Dustin; grandparents, Terry and Lori Sindelar of Arvada, Colo., Donald Scarlett Jr. of Phoenix and Jim and Sondra Olson of Norfolk; and great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Nelson of Lakewood, Colo., Jean Scarlett of Grand Island, Jim Scarlett of St. Edward, Catherine Ainsworth of Norfolk and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Olson of Norfolk.
