April through October:
Tuesday through Sunday: 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM
closed Mondays and Major Holidays

November through March:
Tuesday through Saturday: 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM
Closed Sundays, Mondays, and Major Holidays

Admission to the Museum is 2.50 for adults. Free admission for Museum members, children and school groups

Mission Statement

The Cass County Historical Society Museum collects, preserves, studies and interprets materials that tell the history of Cass County, Nebraska. Specifically, the purpose of the museum is to collect artifacts, manuscripts, geological, archeological, social, economic and cultural history of Cass County; to register, document, conserve, and otherwise care for those collections; to make study collections available for research and other use by the general public; and to provide meaningful exhibits, programs, tours and other educational and interpretive services on a regular basis.

The Cass County Historical Society currently holds Family Surname Files. The amount and type of information in each file varies. Names are constantly being added so there is no way to keep the on-line list current.

Holdings

The Museum has a permanent exhibit of displays focusing on the history of Cass County since 1854, the year of first settlement. The permanent displays are supplemented at least quarterly with temporary exhibits. In addition, the museum has a list of all grave markers in 45 Cass County cemetery records, obituary file, county school histories, approximately 2,000 photographs of people, buildings, street scenes and events.

Publications

A quarterly newsletter is mailed to museum members.
