Index to "CASS COUNTY (NEBRASKA) MARRIAGES"

an article contributed by Alvin R. McReynolds to, and appearing in, the Nebraska and Midwest Genealogical Register, vol. XVIII part 2 (April, 1940), pg. 24 and part 3-4 (July-Oct., 1940), pg. 34-36.

The article, "Cass County (Nebraska) Marriages", consists of a list of marriages appearing in the Cass County Marriage Book 1, which covers the years 1855 through part of 1859. Some years after the compilation of the article, the Cass Co. marriage books were put on microfiche. Marriages before May, 1855 (including the one marriage below from 1854) are not on the microfiche, and I have been unable to determine where these records can be found. In some cases, the author of the article included additional notes on the marriage or the participants in the footnotes. Each marriage is indexed alphabetically by the surname of the bride and, again, by the surname of the groom.

Look up a marriage - This is an index to marriages after 1859 (not in the pages referred to above). These have been generously donated by visitors to this site or gleaned from queries. (NOTE: when the information comes from a query, it will say so. Otherwise the information comes from licenses or other reliable documents.)
DONATE MARRIAGE INFORMATION

Cass County has organized its records of marriage by filing each separate marriage on an index card in a file at the courthouse. It would be a monumental task for anyone to collect all of that data and organize the information by surname, year, and etc. In order to construct Cass County Marriages, it will be necessary to solicit the information from those visitors who wish to post the information from real documents in their possession. If you would like to contribute a Cass County marriage, you may do so by e-mailing David as much of the following information as possible:
