Walter J. and George L. Brown were both sons of William John and Mariah Lillian (Spire) Brown. Their father passed away in 1911 in South Dakota, but I believe their mother had returned by 1919 to Buffalo County, and was living in Shelton.
George L. was the second child, and second son John and Lillie. He was born August 5, 1885, in Tama County, Iowa. He never married, and died May 8, 1958. He doesn't have the 'government issue' headstone, or the flag holder beside it that his brother Walter has, next to whom he is buried.
Walter was the 3rd child and 3rd son of John and Lillie. He was born October 17, 1888 in Tama County. He married Dora Bridget Sheen, but they had no children. They lived all their lives around Gibbon, and according to my mother, their house was nearby the old potato sheds west of Gibbon. I guess people familiar with the area at that time would know where those were. I don't. He died March 26, 1975, and is buried beside George, and his parents in Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon.

MAX LUTH Private Max Luth, Son of Henry Luth, Sr. & Maggie nee Ohde Luth, Ravenna, Nebraska. Entered U.S. Army service at Kearney, Nebraska on July 21, 1918. Served in 163rd Dep. Brig. until July 31, 1918 and then trained in School for Bakers & Cooks at Camp Dodge, Iowa. Completed training on December 4, 1918 and served as a cook in Company "C" 2nd Infantry until his discharge June 28, 1919. Resided afterward in Kearney, Nebraska until his death in 1970.
