Seeking information on John F. VICK, b. Aug 1867 in Illinois, m. Sarah C. SHERER in or near Buffalo Co. NE in 1890. Lived in Kearney NE from his marriage until his death 23 May 1909 in Kearney. STERN, STRASSER posted by E Rafats on Friday, July 14, 2006

I am looking for information about Samuel STRASSER. Associated with that name is Blanca or Blanche STRASSER and Harry STERN. Samuel worked for Harry Stern at Stern's liquor in 1880. Apparently Blanca (Blanche) had a daughter named Aimee (named "Amy" in the 1880 census) who was one in 1880. In 1899, Harry STERN married Blanca STRASSER and took her children into his family which consisted of Elsie, Hattie, and Ernest Stern. I am trying also to find out about the first wife of Harry Stern. I am aware that Samuel came from Appleton WI and had a brother there, who also was in the liquor business. Blanca had two children die before Aimee who are buried in a cemetary in Kearney. Any information about the death of Samuel, the bar, or Harry Stern is welcome.

ANDREWS, CAMPBELL posted by Rose Mary Victor on Friday, August 11, 2006

I'm writing a query on the family of Henry ANDREWS who resided in Kearney, Buffalo Cty., NE abt. 1875 - 1928. My friend has the family bible of Henry Andrews and would like to return it to the right family. Henry was b. 1846 in Nova Scotia, Canada, emigrated in 1858 to Iowa with his father Rev. Peter ANDREWS. He married Mary F.CAMPBELL in 1871 and had two sons, Kenneth R.,b. 1874 in Iowa and Ralph F., b. 1875 in NE. They moved to Kearney, Buffalo Cty., NE where Henry worked as a lawyer. In the 1908 Kearney Directory he is listed at 19 Andrews Bldg. Pres City National Bank, r 2524 Central Ave., as is his son Kenneth R. Kenneth worked as a Real Estate Agent and was the Mayor of Kearney in 1920. Ralph Andrews died in 1896 at age 21 yrs. Henry d.in 1928 at 82 yrs., Mary d. in 1921 at 73 yrs. Kenneth R. d. in 1953 in Long Beach, CA at 81 yrs. They all are buried in Kearney. It doesn't look as if Henry's two sons had heirs. I posted a query to a few family trees of Rev. Peter Andrews in Iowa, but never received an answer. Hope someone can give me advise on what to try next.

DEWOLF posted by Carolyn Wells on Monday, November 6, 2006

Looking for any information on George W. DEWOLF who was in the 1900 Shelton, Buffalo Co., NE census as a boarder in a hotel. His wife "Eliza" was not with him, nor his 3 children. George died 12/18/1903. He was born in Canada in 1842/43. Would anyone know something about George? Is he buried in Shelton? Thank you in advance.

FREDERICK posted by Carl Martin on Saturday, January 13, 2007

I am seeking some help with the FREDERICK family who lived at Riverdale. Fred and Fredericka FREDERICK settled near Riverdale from Illinois and I have found them with their children in the 1880 Nebraska Census. They divorced sometime before 1889 and Fred remarried and moved to Oklahoma and then to Illinois where he died. Fredericka and most of her children remained at Riverdale and she donated the land for the Riverdale cemetery where she is buried. She died in 1923. I would like to know how hard it would be to get a more complete date of death for her so that I can get a copy of her obituary and also am wondering if their divorce would be on file from that far back? Does the courthouse there have an index of early marriages and divorces? I would appreciate any help I can get. I have a few records of this family; but not much and will be glad to share what I have. Carl Martin
