PALMER posted by Art Palmer on Wednesday, February 26, 2003

William Seward PALMER had a homestead in or near kearney in 1911 and before (he died in 1911 supposedly of blackwater fever, but that sounds doubtful, it could have been murder). He was born in Menomonie, WI in 1867. In 1911, W.S. PALMER had a (later infamous) wife, Estelle Mabel (known usually only as Mabel) b. 1878 in Iowa, a daughter, Bertie, (sometimes spelled Birdie) b. 1897, and a son Arthur Francis PALMER (called BUD) b. 1899 in Menomonie. Apparently this remaining family moved around considerably and eventually out to California where Arthur 'Bud' Palmer married Ola B. Williams originally from OK) in 1921 and returned that same year, with his mother, Mabel (by then married to Charlie Gigy), and Ola, to Kearney to dispose of the homestead. If someone has additional information about any of this, either the persons mentioned or the homestead, or other relatives, or even corroborative info, please contact.
