CONGLETON, ROBINSON, SHEPHERD posted by Doug Shepherd on Thursday, June 18, 1998

I am seeking birth, death, burial, marriage, newspaper, sibling, and ancestor information on CONGLETON family (1880-1920). We know Lewis, Louis, John, Lucinda (Congleton) SHEPHERD, and others were in the Kearney area during this time. J.W. ROBINSON owns the cemetery lots where some of them are buried. We do not know the relationships, birth dates, date of death, etc. for most of them. The Kearney cemetery also has Lucinda "Shephard" buried in a lot owned by J.W. Robinson. We believe she is really Lucinda (Congleton) Shepherd, wife of Ezekiel A. Shepherd. Can you make any of these connections?

PARK, SEAWARD posted by Loraine Prutzman on Friday, August 21, 1998

Am hoping some one out there can locate info on James Henry PARK born in Fairmount Twp., Luzerne Co., PA in 1851 married Rebecca A. SEAWARD at Town Hill, Luzerne Co., PA in 1880 . Rebecca born 22 April 1859 at Sugar Loaf Twp., Columbia Co., PA. In 1881 they were residing in Kearney, NE and had a child James Winnie Park b. 27 April 1881 who died there May 9, 1881. Whether this family stayed in the area I do not know . These was a second son Arthur Park but no dates or places. Would appreciate it greatly if one of you who read this query will do a little "poking around" in Kearney to see if the name can be found. Most of James H. Parks brothers stayed in area where they were born in PA and were probably farmers.

SCHUKAR posted by Mona Mueller on Monday, August 31, 1998

This is a unique name -- nearly every SCHUKAR in the US can be traced to the Bernickow area of Brandenburg. Peter Schukar was apparently the first of the family to emigrate. In 1852 he brought his family to Dodge County, Wisconsin. After 20 years there, they moved to Fayette Co., Illinois. Several Schukar families came to Buffalo Co. in about 1885. I have lots of data to share.

LOCKHART posted by Kathy Lockhart on Monday, October 5, 1998

I am attempting to find information regarding my husband's great-grandfather and grandfather. The family story indicates his great grandfather, Elbert William LOCKHART immigrated from Scotland to Gibbon, Nebraska - date unknown. His grandfather William Elbert was born 5/19/1902 and we think in Gibbon. We have always been told that Elbert became a mayor of Gibbon, but cannot confirm. We are interested in knowing birth dates of Elbert (death is about 1969), year of immigration, and any history regarding his affairs in Nebraska.
