Seeking information, obituaries, etc on the family of Martin METZ, b. 11 Aug 1858 or 1859 in Muscatine Co, IA, m. Margaret Jane MAURER in Muscatine in 1878. Sometime after 1878 this family moved to Miller, Buffalo County. Martin's mother, Henrietta GETTERT came with them. His father, George Michael METZ died 1881. One sister Phillipena, m. Daniel Grimm, remained in Muscatine Co. Martin METZ's home was destroyed by a tornado in Miller and he was one of the first in Nebraska to order a Montgomery Wards prefabricated home to be shipped and constructed by Wards on his property. Henrietta died 5 June 1919 and her son Martin only a few days later, 9 June 1919. What happened to his wife and children? Martin was a breeder of Percheron horses. Any information greatly appreciated.

Samuel HIGGINS and wife Ellen EWER HIGGINS lived in Buffalo County after leaving Wisconsin in 1870's. They had a son Sampson Grant HIGGINS who stayed with his mother after Samuel and Ellen separated. Any further information on the HIGGINS family would be helpful.

Looking for any information on Hiram T. HARRIS. He and his wife Mary E. HARRIS signed a legal document relating to a West Virginia inheritance in Buffalo County on 14 Jan 1897. Hiram T. HARRIS was the son of John Henry and Martha (TUCKER) HARRIS, and was born in Hardy Co. Virginia in ca 1836. Are descendants still living in Buffalo Co, NE? If so, would like to make contact.

Homer J. ALLEN 1848-1900, historic family home was in Kearney, wife was Phoebe HOTCHKISS 1853-1934. My mother June was born in the family home. Homer's father was Josiah Northup ALLEN 1822-1898, does anyone know where Josiah was from? Possibly Otsego, NY?

NOTE: The reseacher is deceased, but this query is being left here because this information may be of help to other researchers.
Mary LOOMIS was born in Indiana, June 2, 1838. She married Edward ELLIS in Dubuque Co. Iowa, 1858-59. Two sons were born at Dubuque, Robert ca 1860, Thomas, March 2, 1862.  Edward Ellis died after the birth of Thomas. Mary then married Stephen McKEE, and the family, Mary, Stephen and Thomas (No Robert) moved to Shelton, Buffalo Co, NE in 1865. Other children born to Mary and Stephen were Stephen Jr, Sylvester and D.D McKEE, possibly others. After Stephen died in 1877, Mary married William FINES. They are all buried at the Shelton Cemetery.
