FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD.

Oh! the pure delight between God and glorified souls. God looks on them with an enjoyed eye as his own by many dear titles, and is ravished with the replex of his own excellence shining in them. "As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride (it is the language of devine love) so their God rejoices over them. The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty. He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will rest in his love; He will rejoice over thee with singing." He is infinitely delighted in the communication of his goodness to them. And what a blessed rest do they find in the complete fruition of His goodness, All their desires quietly expire in his bosom. What triumphs of joy follow! Can we frame a fuller conception of happiness than to be perfectly loved by the best and most blessed Being and perfectly to love him, and to partake of the richest emanations of his loving kindness, that is far more valuable and desirable than life itself? --Dr. Bates.

The children's day exercises last Sunday morning were of a very interesting nature. The house was crowded. The dialogue between destiny youth, temptation and goodness, was finely rendered, each child did its part well. The orchestra gave us a fine piece of music.

The city fathers are to be commended for the activity and push they are manifesting, by way of improving and bettering the city. The sidewalk improvement is greatly in place. Let the good work go on.

Mrs. C. B. Scott is visiting this week with her mother near Axtel, Neb.

Last week on Thursday the pastor and family had a pleasant visit with the families of J.H. Deets and C.A. Brigham, sharing in a splendid dinner at the latters place.

The attendance at the prayer meeting last week was good. Now please invite yourself to the meeting next week, we shall be glad to greet you there. We are now studying the life of Paul.

PERSONAL

Bro. Gilming and wife visited in the country a few days.

Mr. C.B. Scott is this week at Broken Bow, attending Court.

Miss Anna Deets left on Tuesday for an extended visit in Pennsylvania.Mr. Josh Woods and family returned Thursday from the ranch where they have been several weeks recuperating.

Mr. and Mrs. Lucas from near Elm Creels worshiped with us. Their promising baby boy of five months was baptised at the morning services.

Rev. Wayne Smith and wife of Prairie Center, worshiped with us on Sunday. They are old time friends and we were glad to worship with them once more.

Mrs. Violet Shettle, of Indiana, who has been visiting at M.J. Shettles, left on Thursday of this week to visit a short time with friends in Kansas. We were loath to have her go.

Mr. Amiel Debree of Butler, Neb., was a welcome visitor at the Parsonage. He, with his esteemed parents, now sainted, were much endeared to us in the bonds of faith and love in former years.

We kindly ask all to personally pray and work for the progress of the Lord's work in our hands and midst. Give it your personal presence and effort. Make a sacrifice for it and God will bless you and the work. Remember in unity of effort there is success.

True politeness is perfect ease and freedom. It simply consists in treating others just as you would like to be treated yourself.

Pride costs us much more than hunger, thirst and cold.

NOTES

Chief thanks to all who supplied flowers, and helped in the decoration.

Home grown new potatoes and vegatibles ara on the market in abundance.

C.A. Brigham is still afflicted and not able to attend to business matters. We hope for a speedy recovery.

The pastor, by the kindness of Father Lucas, visited Mr. William Lucas and family near Elm Creek, last Wednesday.

M. J. Shettle and family, with Mrs. Violet Shettle and son. of Indiana, were guests at the parsonage last Saturday evening.

The pastor preached at the stone school house last Sunday afternoon, notwithstanding the heat. The house was well filled with attentive listners.

The Ladies Aid which met at Mother Scott's was only fairly attended. The meeting next Wednesday will be at Mrs. Mary Livingstons.

T.J. Scott the popular superintendent was in his element last Sunday and filled with joy and enthusiasm at the sight of such a large number of parents and children present.

Mr. William Smith and Miss Josephine Edeal were married by the pastor, Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock, June 20. Twenty-five or more persons were present. A royal supper was served.

The union meeting of the young peoples societies of the city at the Christian church last Sunday evening was fairly well attended. Mrs. C. B. Scott led the meeting and made it interesting to all.
